Hi Paul, Had one of my knees replaced last August due to RA, its fantastic, so glad that I had it done. Would like the other one to be done now. Was off work for 8 weeks. I don't think I could have coped with both being done at the same time though. Sue

9 days, only because I couldn't get it to bend though, my consultant had me on this machine to make it bend. some people were out in about 5 days, it really depends on you. by the 5th day i was able to stand on my toes which I haven't done in years, and realised that I had no arthritic pain.

I had my knee replacement last August and I feel like I have got my life back. I can swim, walk, and I feel fine. I woke up after the operation and simle all over. It was not so bad but I had pain for few days. I could walk a litle bit the same day as the operation.

Hi Kristin, Thats fantastic I was in alot of pain for the first 3 days and I thought I had made a mistake but by the end of the 2nd week it was brilliant. I have tried swimming but my left knee is so bad i just cant stand the pressure of the water against it. Do you suffer with your shoulders or does the swimming help?
