My mother had one. She bought it but you can sometimes get help from organisations like the British Legion (if you have any army connection at all) or other charities. My Dad used to interview people for help from BL so that's how I know about that. You can usually buy them second hand too from mobility shops.

Hi Krystal, I have one, bought it second hand off ebay for £200. I think they are around £600 new.
It is one that you can pull apart, and put in the boot of your car.Very handy when I couldn't walk at all.
I just felt a bit self concious being 53 and not 73 using it, but then thought well its either this or I am housebound so I got on with it.
I have a rollater now, they are walking frames with wheels and a seat on for when you need it, and honest I wouldn't be without it, you get some exercise and can get in and out of places much easier, like pushing a pram really, and you can pop your shopping on the handles.

it's also a good idea to buy the bigger sturdier models rather than the light weight ones if your going to be using it often. they are more stable and less likely to tip over. My friend had one of those lightweight ones and was trying to bump down a kerb when she tipped over.
