Sue

If you are on higher rate mobility component of DLA you will qualify otherwise you will more than likely need the backing of your GP.

Contact your local council for details and application forms.

Agree with above, if you get DLA no problem getting Blue Badge from council Otherwise its a letter from your GP. It does cost about £5 and you will need two ,passport pics.

I had a blue badge years ago but it expired and I insisted that i didn't need it anymore but god it was helpful!
Gonna wait until DLA gets sorted as it should be easier to get it then shouldnt it?

Hi Verity, probably be easier, altho once your GP tells them how long U have had R.A., u shld get it no probs....How comes U havnt had DLA b4 now? U should have been having that for years....shame they dont back date more than 3 months....U of all of us deserve the top rate!..... By the way Verity, on another posting, u mentioned your taps, made me feel for u when U said that U cry often just getting a cup of water....Pleae ring your local council, ask for the Ocupational Therapy dept(u may already know all this) anyway, tell them your condition, pain etc, and your Needs.....they will come and look around your house, (owner or council tenant, doesnt matter) all free, they should Install new taps, the long ones that U see in diabled toilets, U r entitled to those ok.....there are some Items that they do Not offer, so I am not entirely sure if they do fit taps, but please ask......I had therapist here few weeks back, I have now got(hard to describe, but will do my best) its for the bed, its Motorised and has a remote controller, it sits under the pillow, and u press the remote and it raises me UP, or down, amazing peaice of equiptment, didnt realise how brill it was going to be, cost them £500.00(all free) thank god.....this will be fantastic for me when I hyave my spine fused, and also for when I have my shoulders operated on, as I can have it in a goood upright position and sleeep comfortably without the strain on my back and no pressure on my shoulders and hips....... if anyone is struggling to get out of bed.....ask the Occc therapist for an AIRFLO, PILLOW LIFT MANGAR INTERNATIONAL, its a low pressure air compressor, AMAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZING!!also, if U dont want to use it, it goes down flat to the mattress and u still use your own pillows.......so Verity, get on the Blower and ask for ya taps, and hand rails, hand grips to help u make life easier....all of U should ring and get support if U need it....all freee remember that xx
